Kulturfyren – The Culture Lighthouse, at Skeppsholmen in Stockholm, is now taking shape; a centre facilitating creative meetings for children and adults, amateurs and professionals, artists and musicians, those on their way to enter the art scene and those already established. Three main directions form the basis for Kulturfyren’s work, vision and objectives.
Children’s Culture
Focusing on children’s creative development in activities as summer holiday camps where choir singing, image creation, dancing, scouting and sailing is taught. The belief is that if free expressions are explored early in life this will increase the individual self-esteem and pride.
A Centre for Choirs
In close collaboration Kulturfyren and Eric Ericson International Choral Centre work to give Swedish and international choirs a “home” in Stockholm. Kulturfyren offers rooms for repetitions and concerts, and will in the future also arrange workshops, inspiration days, choir camps and master classes for both singers and choirmasters.
A creative hotspot
Art- and musical devotees of all ages will here be guided by inspiring, experienced and capable pedagogues, and practitioners, evoking the joy of the esthetical expression. Kulturfyren will offer activities that enrich and strengthen both the individual and the group through choir–singing, art, dance and theatre. Art galleries and concerts will give amateurs, professionals and visitors, opportunity to enjoy the beautiful rooms and location.
